Designing a logo is one of the more difficult aspects of creating a brand. Aside from deciding on a color scheme, the logo will be the first thing a client sees and unfortunately, will judge. Creating a clear and concise logo will be the blueprint for your business and will be the anchor that ties everything together. It’s a very overwhelming and quite daunting task. So where do you start? The first place to start is by brainstorming some ideas and selecting a style that speaks to your brand.
I’ve been scouring the internet for some free logo ideas. There are some great logo designs that you can pay for, but if you’re in the early stages of design it might not be a great idea to buy logo packs if you don’t have a theme in mind. I found some great free ones and thought I’d share some of them with you today.

Please note, many of the files are either AI or EPS and will open with Adobe Illustrator. This program will allow you to manipulate them any way you want. If you don’t have Illustrator, you can use another vector-based program such as CorelDraw, InkScape or GIMP. Some of these logo are Photoshop files which can be opened and manipulated using Photoshop or GIMP.
A very popular style right now are “hand-drawn” or “coffee house” style. Although many use this style, it is fun and gives your logo a personal touch and allows for a more down-to-earth and authentic feeling.
